This is a very interesting case to keep on the radar! If it eventually finds its way to the SCOTUS, we can just imagine the potential effect it would have on Universities admissions policies regarding preferential treatment and the quota of admitting minorities to their colleges. The difficulty, of course, would be proving a disparate impact on admissions tests. From the looks of it, Title ...

Besides the charge that Affirmative Action is a policy based on something other than objective standards and therefore a form of discrimination, the other commonly heard charge is that an unqualified person will be doing a job that could cost someone their life: Unqualified airline pilot, surgeon, firefighter, policeman etc. Please comment.

My posted comments: 1. Some kinds of affirmative action are uncontroversial, as a matter of law or policy, like taking positive steps to ensure...

I also think you are misunderstanding what I am trying to say. I totally agree with you the models or mathematical equations are not how we understand the economy. No model or equation can ever reflect the complexity of the market, the economic decision of billions of people. They are simply useful tools that can be used to help one understand a small number of variables and if they change...

This is subtle racism coming from white people. It encourages the myth that whites are superior to other minorities, and therefore more qualified for the job. __________________________________________________ __________________ I don't know where you get this. Affirmative action is a policy based on race, gender, ethnicity rather than skills, talent, test scores. If anything, ...
