Hi all, I'm considering the idea of installing OSX (I have tiger, leopard and snow leopard) on my little server which is now running win2k3. Since the motherboard has no onboard raid I use a PCI sata raid card, it's an Adaptec AAR-2610SA. Will it be compatible with OSX? Thank you all, bye!

I just expanded my Adaptec array (model 51245) by a drive (just doing one at a time for safety), and after the 6-7 day OCE everything seemed to finish without a hitch. The Adaptec 2405 gives heavy warnings about not enabling the write cache without battery backup on the RAID card. In a RAID 10 setup (4 drives), is this a risk? I see alot of people are running these in RAID 10, do they enable the write cache?

Hi, I read another post in this forum and from it I understand I need firmware version 1.2 for the adaptec 39160 scsi controller for mac. after much googling, can't find that anywhere. all the download sites reference the ftp adaptec site which is no longer responding. any one know where I can get a copy of this firmware file? Has anyone got a monitoring script that works on Adaptec 2405s that they wouldnt mind sharing? Basically I just want something which grabs the output of arcconf, and if all disks are OK and overall status is OK, it does nothing. I installed a 5805Z controller with four 2TB drives, creating a RAID 10. After starting the Win7x64 (Ultimate) install, it progresses to about 65% then hangs.
