The first "episode" of Microsoft's new Windows ad campaign featuring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld is up. Basically they're trying to connect with people to counter things like Apple's Mac vs. PC ads. A little bit strange, but I think they're trying to introduce the characters/tone of what it'll be like... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afR5J7eskno

Here it is: Engadget My opinion is that this could be a fun start to a long journey between Jerry and Bill. Since this is a $300m deal, I am guessing there'll be at least 5+ more commercials with the two? This one didn`t have anything to do with Microsoft or Windows but the line "moist and chewy computers" got my attention. That would totally kick ass. What do you think?

Your argument is either entirely wrong or sadly confused. Drivers have always had to interact with the kernel through an abstraction layer, several in fact, so many it would be better thought of as an obscurity layer. This is not new for Vista. Have you every heard of the MS hardware quality Labs? That program they change thousands for so hardware vendors can certify their drivers ...
