Let's say you have some pills or some molly that you've tested and found mdxx in the stuff, what all does an Anhydrous Acetone wash clean from your stuff? It's my understanding that most binders, caffeine, and impurities would easily be filtered in the event I did this but what else? In your opinion would you find this to be a reasonable thing to do to your goods? Edit: ...

I have two questions. when thinning polyester resin can you use acetone or should you use styrene? The glass supplier by me said 50/50 mix of acetone/resin to coat wood first. I am going to redo my bench seat. Just got all my hinges and brackets from pompanette. bro said acetone too, just not as heavy a mix also, is nautic marine welding still around? thanks matt

Hi all, I quite recently bought a bottle of acetone, but punctured the LDPE bottle it came in while unwrapping it. So I transferred it to a clear PET bottle, and now I find that whenever I do it up tightly, within a few days all the air has gone and the bottle sucked in, without shaking it. Has the air dissolved in it or what?

Dad and I were sorting some of his collection that had been sitting for forty years in safe deposit boxes. We happened across a 1953 1/- proof that was just slimed with PVC. Spent ten minutes with acetone, a half dozen cotton swabs and a 7x binocular microscope. We added a bit of gentle persuasion. Results below. ...

Say there's a solution of bromocyclopentane and bromocyclohexane and each were reacted with a solution of NaI in acetone, which one display higher SN2 reactivity? I did this in a lab recently and bromocyclopentane formed it's precipitate and bromocyclohexane failed to within a certain time period. It's kind of hard visualizing the structure, but the best explanation I could come up with is that ...

I am attempting to create a line (5" long by .5") that I can then measure the resistance between. I have tried creating a paint/ graphite mix but no matter what consistency I make by diluting it with acetone, I cant get a accurate distribution of values. They jump erratically when I measure them.

Here are some before and after pics of my wheel caps. I did a thorough wash and dry, then sanded them off , then rubbed them with acetone. Then 5 coats of regular silver spray paint from the hardware store. Now my rims really stand out again.

One day in a pinch i'd run out of acetone (Real stubborn adhesive) and tried a little nail polish remover. It worked. but i put it on a cotton ball and applied it that way. plus i figure it's got stuff in it to keep my cuticles soft and what not...*shrug* But I try to stay away from acetone, usually I use 91% to get the residue off.. I use tape so i don't have too much ...

It has been reported by many others on bio forums that pure gum turpentine has much the same effect as acetone at the same blend percentage at dissolving animal fat, cleaning the injectors, improving fuel atomization, and thus increasing power. I recommend 1%.
