Had the ATF changed at 45k as per the schedule. Fast approaching 90k now (how time flies!). I'm toying with having the atf and filters done again at the next service though afaik its not normally done. Is there any point?

As title states. Having a buddy help me bleed my clutch, he somehow mixed DOT3 brake fluid and ATF up. How screwed am I? Is there anyway to clean it out? Thanks, Chris

coolant in tranny/atf in degas ok, got a late 99 with zf6 tranny. tranny has two lines run to radiator to cool tranny fluid something inside radiator is leaking, allowing fluids to be in wrong places... i know the autos have a seperate cooler for the tranny, and like the idea of that better... could i run a seperate cooler on mine and...

I'm looking to change the atf in my jeeps automatic soon, and was wondering if walmarts atf+4 is any good? Its the only other stuff I've found besides the factory stuff and the Castrol and Valvoline stuff that Autozone sells. I was gonna get the valvoline stuff, but its 5.50 something at the zone,but the walmart stuff is only 3.40 or 3.50 something a quart. I'm just a little leary on trying it ...

So my roommate (a pre-law student) and I were talking about ATF agents over dinner, and we came up with a question that neither of us could answer: Can ATF agents have an FFL or is it considered a conflict of interest? Has anyone ever known or heard of an ATF agent with theirs? I could find nothing about this on google or from the ATF's public info.

If possible, would you be able to provide the procedure for ATF fluid change? I've found varying pieces of information regarding the capacity and procedure. It seems as though it is 5 quarts "Initial Fill", and 9.5 quarts "Total Fill". Could you provide more information on this? Anyone have any experience with using automatic trans fluid as a top end carbon clean-out? I just heard from a guy that it's (in his experience anyway) better than water, and cheaper than Seafoam. This is the BMW-recommended fluid for the GM automatics, made by Texaco. I purchased it to do the preventative maintenance fluid change on my '00 328i and ended up doing a flush & fill instead. I was worried about cross-contamination from mixing fluid types/brands, so got the "real stuff." 9 quarts, $16.95 each from BavAuto. $10 each plus shipping from VA 20134.
