How long are real MCAT tests? The AAMC practice tests are PS 52, VR 40, BS 52. HOWEVER when you log into your e-mcat account and click the tab labeled "How is the MCAT scored" it gives you two very different scales for every test. One scale labeled "MCAT Practice Test" lists the number of questions as the 52, 40, 52 scale mentioned above... The other labeled "MCAT FUll Length" ...

I know this is a long shot, but I thought I'd try... This past weekend I sat in on the AAMC annual conference in Boston. There was an interesting panel on their Careers in Medicine website and I'd love to take a closer look at it, but my school isn't one of the ones on their main list. I spoke with the panelists afterward about this and they said they're going to implement a fee-for-access ...

Hi, I am using AAMC content outlines I printed out last summer to prepare for the January 2010 MCAT. Does anyone know if these content outlines have been updated recently? I didn't notice any differences when I briefly scanned the current documents on the AAMC website. Secondly, does anyone have information (online articles, SDN threads, etc.) regarding MCAT content trends over the past few ...

This isn't the right section. Just so everyone knows, you can buy the guide + 1 AAMC FL for $45. One AAMC practice test costs $35, so you're getting the guide for $10.

I agree with J DUB. Organic Chemistry is such a small part of the test. I honestly think that one could do OK on the two passages dedicated to Organic Chemistry. (out of the 7 passages on the bio section) I think that you could do it, but it would be *preferable* to spend more time (3 months-4 months) studying. Good luck. Also, I averaged only a 27.5 on the MCAT exams (real, AAMC exams) but...

But honestly, your time will be better spent on more general ideas about organic chemistry. You'll most likely be given mechanisms of reactions that you've never seen before and be asked questions regarding intermediates and such. Learn the fundamentals well enough to apply them to new situations. I posted earlier about some popular organic topics that seem to make their way onto the ...

Definitely do NOT go over the verbal section in your AAMC FLs, or any other AAMC FL section, separately. Save those for when you take them as complete practice tests. If you've already taken them, then they aren't very useful anymore and you'll need to buy new practice tests. For practice tests, BR and GS and your best bets. Your last, somewhat decent, source for verbal practice passages is BR...
