Check out this link. In houston one of the local news stations did an investgation on gas deliveries to local gas stations. They found documents showing that when the drivers had filled up the regular bulk tanks and they had leftover gas they just pumped the 87 octane into the 93 octane tanks,as much as 1000 gallons of it went into the premium tank. I know some will want to get on here and say...

My PCM recently went out and I'm back to stock without a tune. Until I get a dyno, I'm not tuning back with an e-mail tune because I think that's what caused it to go out in the first place. My question is, I've been putting 93 in for almost 3 years now because I've always had a 93 tune from Bamachips, but now that I'm back at stock, it's not exactly necessary right? Although if I get a dyno in ...

If a gas station states their gas has up to 10% Ethenol, anyone know what's the maximum Ethenol that could be in their 93 Octane fuel? My understanding is that Ethenol decreases the Octane, so can they put very much in their "Hi Octane" fuel?

Anyone know of a way to find stations with 93 octane? I've used my best Googling abilities and have found a few that sell 100 or so racing gas (at very high prices) but no ordinary 93. Is 91 the norm for premium here in PHX?

+1 Cecil county in IMO, does not show accurate times. I live in Pa, and ask anybody around here and they'll tell you cecil is a " fast track" If your actually in the burnout box lookind down the track from otuside the car you can clearly see its slightly downhill and I wouldn't be suprised if it was a few feet shorter then a 1/4 mile. Go to atco, or Maple grove and see what you run. Atco, was ...

Filling up too soon can really skew the numbers, you are correct about that. Fill up and drive 40 miles and top it off again for best results. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif ) 40 MPG easy. heh I rarely let mine burn through 9 gallons though. Looking at my stats, apparently I fill up around half a tank. YTD FE is 29.97 / max 37.38, avg fill 6.0 gal, avg 182 miles, 6 gal/fill...

Pure ethanol has higher octane than even straight premium gasoline by itself. When mixed, it increases octane. But who cares? The final result is whatever the final result is! 93 octane is 93, no matter what means there are to get there. Whether it is additives or ethanol, or commonly a mix, we get what the pump says. Since ethanol has less BTU energy than Gasoline, we suffer power/gas ...
