Here is a good one. Last year I purchased a truck with the 4L60E and was told it had only 5000 miles on a new rebuild for the tranny. It would go from 1st to 3rd after letting off the gas to let it shift. I tore it down and it was in need of a rebuild. Did everything correctly. got a 94 s10 blazer. 4.3 vortec with the 4l60e tranny. there is a great buy on a 700r4 tranny with low miles, and i would like to know what i need to swap it out. Did a lil research and found that i need somethen for the lockup in the torque converter. other then that im lost. anyone know what is needed? Thanks, Cliff

My car is a 95Z28 with a 4l60e trans and I'm having problems with it not holding third gear unless I'm on the throttle when i let off it drops rpms like its in neutral! Anybody had this problem i know nothing about trannys so I'm in the dark with this one.

Newbie here and need some help. Short story: Bought and 04 LS1 GTO with 45K miles. 3K miles later the A4 tranny let go. 2nd, 4th and rev are out and coolant in the tranny. Ok time far a rebuild. Found a 4l60E from a 98 LS1 Trans Am that had been built slightly and 45k miles on it. Will this tranny work in my GTO? I need somthing just long enough to to the original rebuilt....

I am putting a 5.3 and 4l60e in a 68 3 speed. A budget truck. How has anyone adapted the 4l60e? I would rather not buy an ididit column for 600 bucks. I am open to either adapting the column 3 spd, retrofitting an automatic column shift, or putting in a floor shifter. Does anyone have pics of either? Will the gennie floor shifters clear a stock bench seat?

i have a 94 sonoma was a 4.3 z code now has 355 roller motor.the truck has a 4l60e trans i was wondering if there is any way i can run this tranny but carb the motor. i have the stuff to run tbi on it but everyone i have talked to says the motor has to much cam to run it. plus I'm more of a carb guy anyway the less sensors the better.

I gotta replace the pump in my '95 4l60E and I had bought a billet 10 vane rotor to go in the new one. I just got the new pump apart and it has a 13 vane pump in it. Is there any internal differences on a 13 vane pump when compared to a 10 vane pump? Also, would I be able to just drop the 10 vane rotor in this thing or do I need to go back to the trans shop and get a 10 vane pump?

Hey so i have a 97 lt1 camaro that spun a bearing again. So im swapping in an ls1 from a 98. Is there any difference in the 4l60e trans in those years? My shop keeps telling me that i will need a new trans but summitracing told me they are the same? Who is right? Thanks guys
