Milling 17-4 series stainless with a 6in milltech f-mill .100 depth of cut 384 rpm 15 to 30 inch a min. I am chipping inserts after every 3 passes. Book says run 700rpm at 70 in a min. The dryer ignites sporadically, I replaced the thermal fuse and it took care of the problem for a few weeks,. I rechecked the fuse and it is fine. SAw and read the other post about 17-4 I believe all my troubles are from the milling outside and inside radiuses burning up the insert. Other than that we can run it really well. I also noticed in the other post that you all recomend finishing at .001 - .0015 chip per flute with a .02 step over it would take a couple weeks to finish one side.
