Looking to replace my wife's Legacy GT wagon, with something a little bigger.. i.e.,an 04+ 4-Runner. If I understand, the post 04 V6 models went to a timing chain. I'm curious also, if I'm crazy. There is an 08 SR5 with 89000 miles listed, and it apparantly was a "corporate" car. The carfax shows an average of like 5k miles a month, so it has to be highway mileage. Am I crazy...

I have a 2000 4-Runner Limited that, when I shift it into drive, will not engage and move the vehicle forward in cold weather . It eventually will after the vehicle heats up for about 10 minutes, but this is obviously not ideal. I took it to a dealer last year and they flushed the transmission, even after I told them I read somewhere online that I though it was something else. The problem...

Pricing on the 2010 Toyota 4 Runner is finally out. Launch date should be coming soon. Most of the 4 Runners have been shipped to their region but still have not been delivered to Dealers. These things are awesome!

04 SR5 4-runner will not start. Battery is good, changed starter due to toyota diagnostic saying it was bad..... not the case vehicle still will not start. What could be the issue??? Thank you

Hi , have had my 4 Runner for about 4 months now , I do have big plans for it but in the mean time I was wondering if there are any mods that can be done to make it more economical fuel wise , a friend of mine has a Lexas V8 in his surf and is getting about 440 ks per tank while my V6 is only doing bout 300 ks per tank , any help would be appreciated

I was constantly getting 450 - 500 kms per tank and the only thing different on mine was the Yokohama geolander tyres which are not aggresive at all. I have a 97 4-runner (6 cyl). It has trouble cranking once in a while. It's not the battery. I'm assuming it's some type of fuel problem. When I turn the key to accessory, I hear a deep growling noise under the hood. I assumed the fuel pump was in the rear by tank, so I'm not sure what the noise is under the hood. I hate to say it, but a weak alternator and a dead battery will cause all your issues. I would first try replacing the battery. Worst case scenario it doesnt fix your problem, take it back and get your money back.

Who changed your starter and why was it changed? A click is usually because of a low battery... there is enough juice to actuate the plunger, but not enough to spin the motor to spin the engine. I would try swapping the battery first. How did you check the battery.....if you did it with a meter, itll prob read 12v, but you need more amperage....these problems turn up all the time ...

my 87 4runner with its 22re did great! i had stock gearing with 31" bfg tires and a 5 speed...hills were never a issue, loaded down it was fine depending on were your travling, for me travling up to big bear i always get stuck behind slower traffic but it never seemed like it was never a strugle with the 22re...
