Ok, I have a n00b question and despite looking around I haven't found something that works for both of my intended mediums. I am generating a DVD using DVD Studio Pro from clips converted by After Effects. The original clips are 23.976 HD film footage destined for DVD playback. However, I have a problem where my choices seem to be: a. Plays back great on a regular DVD player ...

I feel like all aspects of this have been covered and I hate to press the group for more of their time with this old dog, but I don't get it 100% (maybe 95% I get it). Here's my material and situation. All source material is 23.98 DVCPro HD 720p60 I am delivering a letterboxed dropframe NTSC SD Digibeta master to the client for broadcast (to a network clock). Hi, I've just shot and edited a piece shooting at 720P 24fps (really 23.976) Shoot and edit went flawless, outputted as a Quicktime 720P24fps great, same as an MP4 (h.264 codec.) Although I understand the pulldown process to convert 24 to 30 (23.976 to 29.97), I don't know what settings to use in Final Cut. ...

Well Thomas, yes cinema as in film but they projected video through their expensive (very!) digital projector. Sometimes my SD DVD's upscaled through the Panny Blu-Ray player, sometimes a proper Blu-Ray disc through the same player. Both looked pretty good but not, unsurprisingly, as good as good old 35mm film! Michael Slowe

I'll give that a shot. I have the problem that the interlaced version plays fine on some PCs but not others. And in the interest of "fool proofing them" I need them to play perfectly regardless of what machine they're stuck into. (Studio execs directives "just make it work") Fair enough.
