check this out..ever since i put a new head on my 92 22re the engine has been rattling and idle with very low oil pressure.i pulled the vc and the tc is loose.all the guides and the chain look like new.well long story short.i installed a tc kit and presto no noise and good oil pressure..upon inspection of the tensioner there is a plug that is leaking..is this a common problem? and thank u toyota ...

Hi All, I have a great '88 4Runner 22RE 4cyl that needs the fuel injectors rebuilt. Any detailed advice on doing-it-yourself? The Chilton manual has minimal information on the specifics for the removal of the air intake manifold and fuel rail. Thanks.

Hi, I have a 92 22re pickup with about 100,000 miles. When I am acclerating through 2nd and also 3rd, i'm sure it does it in all gears(5sp) but those two I feel it the most. My truck at about 2500rpms-3500rpms(no tach) gets a horse power like surge. You can feel the surge easy as it sets you back in the seat. I have a 83 22re (early version of 22re motor both block and head are different in 85+) with 230k. The head gasket blew a couple months ago so I had a friend who is a mechanic fix it. ive just replaced my water pump as i know it wasnt in good shape and was a big cause of my problems. but the new water pump also seems to make a noise once in a while like its dry and there isnt anywater or its having a hard time. the head is good and has an extra thick headgasket on it. my guess is i have a clogged radiator and it would sound reasonable as i have used head gasked sealant in the...
