LOS ANGELES - Once in a blue moon there is one on New Year's Eve. Revelers ringing in 2010 will be treated to a so-called blue moon. According to popular definition, a blue moon is the second full moon in a month. But don't expect it to be blue - the name has nothing to do with the colour of our closest celestial neighbour. The New Year's Eve blue moon will be visible in the United ...

I hope to retire between 2025 and 2028 (15-18 years). We would really like to Full-Time RV for a couple of years and hit all 49 states and Canada. I'd love to see all the national parks and a bunch of the state parks. I want to fish every state and and just take our time and see all of the country. What are you plans? Mac

I just learned that we are going to have a blue moon for new years! This phenomenon is unique for new years. This is the first blue moon in the last 20 years. The next blue moon to happen on new years is in 2028! I thought this would be fun opportunity/assignment for a unique strobist image. Creatively capture the Blue Moon or just hoist a blue moon beer under the blue moon....

First off, Happy New Years ! Tonight will be a Blue Moon (second full moon of the month; 13th of the year). It won't happen again until 2028! So pause and have a look at her if you can! For those who don't know, a full moon ALWAYS rises at sunset, so will be high in the sky at midnight anywhere in the northern hemisphere. Enjoy! Jon
