Some of us tend to prefer older (pre-1960s) films because we think they show no racemixing or liberalism, but since becoming racially aware I've been noticing racemixing and support of it in older movies. Last night I happened to turn on "The Sand Pebbles", only to see a White sailor "marry" a Chinese girl. The Chinese girl was the only one of the pair who "got it"; a scene showed them ...

As a kid in the 1960s, I always looked forward to watching the cartoons on Saturday morning. My mom told me that I really liked watching one called "Quick Draw McGraw." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAtKZoUV0Tk&feature =related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eWd7vmbim8&feature =related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6PdY8lq_vI

I remember watching a documentary on them, with two of the children, a brother and sister discussing what it was like growing up with their parents. I know the oldest sister was also murdered by her parents when she discovered that they were up to no good. I just can't remember any of the names. I know the bodies were found under cement in the backyard or something. I also believe the house was ...

A woman has just received surgery. Her face is revealed to be bandaged up. As far as I can remember, you don't see the doctors or nurses - only their shadows. Once the woman's bandages have been removed, her face is normal but the doctors are aliens. Can anyone please help?

2 companies told to get moving on waste-pit cleanup- Houston Chronicle 11/24/2009 "McGinnes, which is no longer in business, owned and operated the pits in the 1960s, filling a 20-acre site on dry land with waste from a now-closed paper mill near the Washburn Tunnel. Recreating a franchise that had a verbal fan base was nerve-wracking for J.J. Abrams. It’s a relief to Abrams that Star Trek XI has been well-received because pleasing fans of a show that has been around since the 1960s is not easy. During an interview, Abrams was asked if he agreed that he had made Star Trek [...] More...

Charles Tyler Ensemble possesses a profound quality. Unlike many records of the mid-1960s, it burns with a quiet blue flame, eschewing the intellectual posturing that characterized much new music in the avant-garde era. Tyler, a baritone saxophonist who became an acolyte of {{Albert Ayler = 3538}}--following him to New York in the early part of the movement--transposes Ayler's famous gravitas to ...

Posted below is a photo of some of our love beads we wore during the hippie era (1960s & 70s). As you can tell from these beads, which we have kept, many of the hippies were true artisans. Genuine hippie love beads were handcrafted out of natural materials, e.g., stone, shells, wood, and seeds. By the mid-1960s, they became a common sight on college campuses. Often, 3 or 4 strands ...
My daughter has moved into a rented property and I have two safety concerns: The flat is at the end of the corridor on the third floor. There is no lift. The only exit is via the stairwell. The block is ?1960s built and her flat is possibly created by adding another third storey in the roof. Does this meet fire regulations as it would not be possible to escape via the windows. The ...

By Marton Dunai Reuters Wednesday, November 25, 2009 4:49 AM ZANKA, Hungary (Reuters) - They called it the "Plattensee" (flat sea), and for Germans from both sides of the Berlin Wall, Hungary's Lake Balaton was close, cheap and mostly free of spies. No one knew then their 1960s lakeside holidays would set in motion events that helped bring down the wall dividing them. As the world ...
