These are pictures from 1930s dust bowl/despression era America. Their interesting because it shows how much America has changed culturally, economically since then. There's 17 pages in this set. There are also many more pictures hundreds of pages worth that show old America on this site. http://www.shorpy.com/taxonomy/term/120?page=11

Hi, I trying to track down a novel about the German motor racing scene in either the 1930s or 1950s. I think a professional driver wrote it. This has been recommended to me as it is supposed to evoke the era, but without the author I am struggling. Any one help?

Thought users of the Classic Film Board might be interested in a collection which I've found. It includes brief biographies of 50 very famous stars and some lesser known stars of the time (1930s). The album I think was published in 1935. This is the first 25. The stars are listed in alphabetical order by last name. The other 25 stars will follow soon. Gwili Andre who is Danish was born ...

Has anyone visited the bakelite museum in Somerset? Apparently the museum has a small number of vintage caravans on display, to include (if I was looking at the right photos on Flickr) a Willerby Vogue and a 1930s Winchester. We're going down to Devon the week after the next and will make a detour via the museum if it's open to have a look.
