I was really lucky this weekend and picked up an 1890 Star Safety Razor in its tin. It also included some paperwork about the Star design and to avoid imitations. Directions for use are lithoed on the tin - which isn't in horrible shape, but not great either. Still I'm tickled at finding and it now has the place of honor as the oldest razor in my collection.

I have been reading these forums for several years and have finally decided to come out of the shadows and join. I have a Winchester 1890 .22 pump that was givin' to me. It appears to have been manufactured in 1904. The buttstock is split at the tang, the front and rear sights are missing, there is minor surface rust and pitting, however all of the manufacture info and serial number are still ...

I have a Model 1890, serial number 55830, that I got from my father 20 years ago. I am guessing it was modified to be a sports model. The Butt Plate on the stock has the Serial Number to match the Serial number on the Receiver and the barrel but the stock does not go to the end of the barrel like is shows in the pictures of the 1890. Also the barrel is only 22 inches long not the 30.7 inches ...

Kaleidoscopic nose, gorgeous complexity. Full of nut skin, olives and herbal scents. The finish felt a slight bit dull or flat, but this was delicious and unique -- given the exotic herbal notes. This showed much better than my previous tasting of this wine; I suspect the improved decanting methods helped here. (90 points) This tasting note is one of several related tasting notes. Click [...

Long before the USC fight song was written, "Fight On for Old SC" was the battle cry for USC. And back in the 1890\'s when the student body said, "Hold that Tiger!" The students were yelling about USC\'s first rival the Occidental Tigers. USC played, "a battering game" in 1908 and beat the favored Tigers 14-0. I\'ve been feeling pretty gloomy since USC\'s loss to Arizona on Saturday. I ...

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. - Aldous Leonard Huxley , 1894 - 1963 What is laid down, ordered, factual is never enough to embrace the whole truth: life always spills over the rim of every cup. - Boris Pasternak , 1890 - 1960 When the mind withdraws into itself and dispenses with facts it makes only chaos. - Edith Hamilton , 1867 - 1963 ...

Freedman (1890-1984) had been part of the American Zionist inner circle but, like Goldstein, converted to Christianity. The complete letter appeared in a pamphlet entitled Facts are Facts. (Excerpts by Henry Makow) The utterance by the Christian clergy which ...

I've been looking though my great grandmother's cookbook. It's very brittle and some pages are hard to read. It's from 1890 and I was curious whether it was rare so I looked up the title on the internet. I discovered that the same book is available online. Someone has taken the time to scan the pages (not my great grandmother's book of course). It's called the Compendium of Cookery and Reliable ...
