I've got a small application that must run with .net 3.5 sp1. But I can't install sp1 in win7 embedded, the system tell me that I should turn windows features on or off in control panel. OK, I open the control panel, click on the "program" icon, nothing but empty was printed. How could I enable .net 3.5 sp1 in CTP2 ICE? If this is impossible, which component should I add to the answer file to ...

One of the program I wanted to use required framework 3.5 and for some reason framework 3.5 won't finish installing because of the unhelpful message. I go to "Turn Windows feature on or off" but then what? There's no install option. I turned on framework 3.5 and restarted the computer, program doesn't work. Tried reinstalling, got the same message. Turned 3.5 off in the ...

Tried an answer on this forum and SP1 seems okay. All the advisers said "go to Start, All Programs and Microsoft Updates" The start button does not show C Drive like my other computers did, there is no "All Programs" on my programs list. I know this sounds petty, but when you do not know what to actually do, I follow directions. Have H{ 1245dx Notebook with 64 bit. They are already advertising ...

Hello all, I have a licensed copy of Visual studio 2008 and have developed an application on it. Now when I distribute the product the client's may or may not have .Net Framework installed on their PC. So can I just include .Net 3.5 as a pre-requisite in the set up project. Are there any licensing issues associated with .Net 3.5 which I will have to take care of ? Please guide me regarding ...

Hi DeepZone, Thank you for your post. For Windows 7, it includes the .NET Framework 3.5.1 as an OS component. This means you will get the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 plus a few post 3.5 SP1 bug fixes. The feature of 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 can be added or removed via the Programs and Features control panel. Thus, we don't need to manually download .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and ...

(I did a system restart due to a virus, so I'm getting all my settings back to normal)...What should I do? Back-up any personal data (none of which should be considered 100% trustworthy at this point) then do a format & clean install of Windows. Please note that another Repair Install (AKA in-place upgrade) will NOT fix this! cf. http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html# ...

As long as your app uses standard .NET functionality then all it needs is the .NET Framework. It's only if it uses OS-specific features that you will have an issue. Even then, it's usually backward-compatibility that's the issue rather than forward-. If you want to utilise the new features of Win7, then you'll need to make changes.

If you look under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0a\Bootstrapper\Packages, is there a folder called DotNetFX35SP1? Can you try reinstalling SP-1 for VS2008? It should add the folder. RobinDotNet
