Nonsense. The Yanks had a $218 million payroll in '08 and didn't even make the playoffs. And the payrolls of many WS winners of recent (and not-so-recent) history have paled in comparison to that of the Yanks. So it isn't all about money, as you suggest. It's about chemistry, good management, and a bit of luck. The Yanks finally have good chemistry for the first time in around a decade.

I was in Philly for Game 1. They are a different breed of animal. The goverment should quarantine that city for the benefit of all Americans.
