I feel like there is a really easy solution to this that I'm missing... We have ancient yet beautiful wood floors throughout our entire house that I love, yet I am at a loss when it comes time for Tyler to be on his belly (which he doesn't tolerate for long as it is). He will roll around and look around, but mostly the kid wants to scooch  all over! I put my hands/arms behind his feet to let ...

i also have wood floors so i understand that when it comes floor time it is not so easy.  i suggest that you get a little area rug that you can put out for playtime.  when my DS was learning to crawl i had to put him on an area rug because he would slide all over the wood floors.  he is 7 1/2 months now and is very good at crawling.  now he crawls right off of the area rug, which i don't mind so...
