Change it out, the washer fluid doesnt have the ethylene glycol in it that coolant has. Also, put a piece of tape on the hood so your wife can't get in it.

yeah might be a good idea to clean it out... its ok i have a simular story... but she is a gilrfriend... a really good catch.. she loves working on her jeep... she knows a good bit about how everything works and what it does or goes to.... *i was not around at the time this happened to stop her* her jeep has a leaking head gasket so it leaks a good bit... but one day she noticed that the oil was low and at the add mark... well her dad gave her...

Flush the cooling system. The detergent in washer fluid is probably breaking down the eg in the coolant.
