Thread: why firewall-settings greyed out?

when i open up kis 2010 and go to firewall-settings and highlight a program why is all the options on the bottom-edit delete-etc all greyed out?i mean i cant configure anything from there?

ok when i right click-click rules for app. then network rules i still cant configure anything its greyed out,how can i allow outgoing internet access and block inbound from there? This post has been edited by Bri : Today, 03:40

Grayed Out does NOT mean they are disabled (it means they are inherited by Application Classification).

richbuff is right but except that i don't like firewall settings generally. You need to expand the category for a spesific application and after that you need to change behaviour by right clicking one by one for trusted/local/public networks. We should be able to do that at once for all networks. bTw, after changing network activity behaviour to "prompt for action" for a spesific ...

Correct, you need to switch it off (power users only).

I understand, there is no way you can do that. Interative mode is interactive, where you know what you are doing. Firewall is no longer a "block all" plug you can simply use it has evovled and I can list you a dozen applications (examples being Diskeeper, Skype) that use non-standart way to access the Internet.
