Thread: why am i more accurate with my XD45c than my XDM40?

Started 2 months, 1 week ago by JurisMyDiction
like the title says, aren't the XDM's supposed to be much better? i shoot consistantly better with my 45c. and i don't think it's the TFO's because i shot better with my 45 before i put the tfo's on.

I gotta say i agree with you. I shoot the xd 45c as well if not more accurate than my xdm 9 which i definatily put more rounds through. I can control the xdm better though, but thats more a caliber issue and the muzzle rise. but in slow fire i can aim better with the xd

i went from a .45c 4" to an XDm .40, 6months later I sold the XDm for a .45c 5" for this very reason, I liked the M, but i love the XD .45c

Longer sight radius?

Because the 40cal round is too snappy. Too much upward muzzle flip.............. The 45ACP has a nice smooth push back, rear-ward recoil... Just my opinion....YMMV..

i always explan it like that to people. but i can't say i believe it myself. i don't feel like the .40 is uncontrollable at all. and yet i am SO much better (even slow fire, where snappy really doesn't matter) with my .45. it's gotta be the TFO's or something. i'm thinking about putting straight 8's or xs dot sites on the xdm. can't find a good sites thread for the xdm's so i dunno. i wanna be ...

I have thousands and thousands of rounds through my 9mm, but I can pick up almost any .45 and shoot just as well, or better. It has always been that way. I don't know why, it is just the way it is with me.

This is my favorite CCW, and I carry it daily. I have just started adding my two XD45's to my rotation... they are accurate... but not quite this accurate at 25 yards.... I absolutely LOVE my XD40SC... it's my favorite handgun......

The Guiderod shouldn't effect reliability except make it better probably, and properly chosen, same with the Spring.

Anticipation of recoil is the biggest reason for poor groups, and that is something that you WILL do during slow fire. Also, if you shoot your 40 the most, then the 45 is a pleasantly softer shooter and easier to be accurate with. This happens for me when I shoot a 9. I'm so use to my 45 that shooting a 9 feels like a pellet gun, and thus I'm faster and more accurate with a 9. But if I shot a 9 all the time I don't think I would...
