Whats the purpose of spending less on a used by if you have to replace all that stuff right away? Why not by a new bike. Jenson USA has a Jamis for 800 bucks brand new, that seems like the best deal at the moment. Dont forget when buying new even a Sette has a Warranty for 5 years when that Yeti even though its a fantastic bike has no warranty because you will be the second owner.

The yeti is a good bike, no doubt in my mind that those bikes are rock solid.

He gets a frame that will serve well for a long time, and things like servicing shocks and drive train have to be done for a new bike quite soon anyway. Especially if you get Monarch air shock over coil Fox.
