Started 9 months, 4 weeks ago by daonly1around
I know we have a picture thread, but everyone is always asking questions and it gets cluttered up. This is a more formal/ informative thread. No need to post pictures of the same car with the same wheels just because you went out and washed your car. Post atleast one picture, no more than three.
Suggestions for angles,
DOwn the car to see how flush it is.

noob question: what's offset?
is that related to spacers?
edit: okay, i found the answer, but what's the benefit/negatives of increased/decreased offset? handling? appearance?
if i were to jump on some 18x8 rota's, do i need wheel spacers?
</noob>
well this is going NOTHING like i wanted to.. wish i could get mod status for this one thread and keep it cleaned up and set to pictures and details only...

Yeah, there are several reasons for the choice to go to a 17. I'm not worried *as* much about...

The only think i can think of id that your offset is lower than +45 and/or since you have 50 series on the 7.5'' wheel, its causing the sidewall to be bulgy vs the sidewall on mine which is stretched a little.

I had a set of steel wheels that were 2 piece (hub and then outer wheel) so they had a bead of weld that was actually problem and rubbed a tiny bit on caliper. I bought alloy...

Nice ride Mr Mazda329. That is the look I am looking for, nearly flush with the fender and meaty but not rubbing! There has to be a balance somewhere. Your pics confirm my love for hyperblack too. Can anyone else confirm rubbing or not with 18x8.5 with 225/40's 48mm offset? I don't track my car or anything, just the occasional WOT on the on ramp or at the lights. Spend most of the time going 28mph in traffic.
no you will not, as long as theyre 18x8 with a +35 offset, like the guy above. you will need to roll your rear fenders though, but you will have enough strut clearance to avoid the need of spacers. the stock wheels are 18x7 +52 offset. use this, it helps me.. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
