Thread: what is this gold fish??????

This is my little nephew's fish he picked out. I do not know what it is. I have not seen any more like it. The fish has a short body, looks funny when it swims. It has a BIG head like a whale. I could not get a good picture of it. And the fish has a fat belly. Mary

Mary is it a fantail? I can't tell from the picture about the head. But the rest looks like a fantail.

yes When I bought the kids their fish they picked out fantail, but this fish turned out different when it got big. Maybe it is a lionhead. I just know it is a funny looking fish. Short, Fat and wiggles funny when it swims. It's head is like a big bubble like a whale. Mary

That is a good thing. You see, the Lion head fantail is a more valuable fish $$$ I also heard of people getting a baby koi when they buy a gold fish. Sometimes the big pet stores mix things up a little.
