Thread: vortec heads on tbi

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by killswitchfan13
If i were to put a set of vortec heads on my 95 tbi 350 could i still use the flat tappet cam? I'd be putting a new intake on it would it benefit me to port match the heads and the intake?

Is there anything i would have to do to the engine to fit the vortec heads? I'm sorry i searched and couldnt find anything that was just this point.

I don't know the specific specs of the swirl ports versus Vortec heads when swapping, but others on here do. Give the thread some time, people will answer.

the heads take a different type of intake manifold and valve covers...do a search many threads on this plus the much extra air your going to have to modify your tb to add extra air and fuel...plus a tune your pcm(burn a chip).

if i do the vortec heads i can get a 454 tb and i was going to tune it anyway specific to the cam and intake and tb and exhaust. What intake would i need to fit the vortec heads?

The bolt pattern and ports are the same, but I'm not sure of the headers fitting in your Tahoe since the Sub. was a different body style.
