Thread: utorrent ports on apartment internet

I am using utorrent to download torrents but the stupid exclamation point is always at the bottom of the screen saying my ports aren't open to detect incoming transmissions and its slowing down my speeds. I have tried to find a working port but I can't. Is there a way around this or any other ports I should be aware of? Surely someone must live in an apartment complex that rapes your ...

They've got it blocked, realistically, not a lot you can do. My solution to this problem was "don't use bittorrent", honestly.

Another solution (although this may not be a good idea) would be to try and figure out what type of router is being used, and then try and log into it using the default login and password (you can find that online once you know what type of router it is). Then, just set up port forwarding to get utorrent to work =)
