I just got back from a shopping trip. Ran into a friend at the pet store. His wife got laid off from an administrative job. It was a tax processing seasonal job. She was already a full-time student Somehow, she got labelled a "displaced worker", and in addition to unemployment benefits, is also getting her tuition paid now under some govt program.
