Thread: two vass questions

i've searched the threads without much luck, so i will ask anew: 1) are there places in england or america that stock vass shoes and if so, who? if not, need one go to budapest in order to buy some? 2) what do they cost OTR? what do they cost bespoke and how long does it take? with sincere thanks.

In the US, Louis (Boston) and Bergdorff-Goodman stock them, I think. Cost depends on the $-Ft exchange rate, but in early '09 they were around $700-800 for leather on up to $2000+ for exotic skins. My understanding is that Vass' bespoke is more like "bespoke lite" or a fancier MTM, and that it's inexpensive for bespoke - maybe 10-20% over their RTW prices. Again, more like MTM. For the record, Budapest is worth...
