Thread: turn the key and nothing happens...please help!!!

I am having a problem with my '85 silverado 1/2ton. it has a carbed 350 and a turbo400 (i think, maybe somebody could clarify exactly which tranny is in it, 3 speed auto). everything works fine when i put the key into accessory and run but when i turn it into the start position nothing happens. i first thought that it was the starter and i replaced it but that didnt fix anything. i have since replaced the ignition switch (along with the...

this may sound dumb but, tried another battery? my camaro had the same issue, accessories had enough power but turning the key nothing happened. turned out the battery was dead (i left it out all winter without start).
