Thread: tranny swap

Does anyone know someone in Edmonton who could do a tranny swap for me? long story short, my 3rd gen has been making a jolt from R to D for the last 12-14 months, i thought it was my tranny mount so i took her in today. they said my mounts are fine but my tranny has some bad sh!t going on in it i love my 3rd gen, not something i am willing to part with so my 2 choices are go to a tranny ...

I can ask my buddy. He's an unemployed mechanic and has some time on his hand. Let me talk to him this week and I will get back you ya.

Just talked to my friend and he won't re-build it, but he will install the rebuild unit. He's not really feeling the 5spd swap as he has never done one of those before. $250 R&R the auto tranny. you supply fluids. NO GST!!!

thanks man but good news, my tranny is fine. i took it to a tranny shop and the guy took her for a spin and said she shifts fine, he said it wasnt the best that i was driving her in power mode for the last 9 or so months but he said just keep her in regular and comfort and shes fine just another question, does he weld or anything? SpeedTech Racing Development was supposed to weld in my Sparco...

no. He doesn't do welding of any sort. Well, that's good news about your tranny.
