Thread: torque converter or worse

Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by backyardmech
I have a 99 Mozda 626 es, 2.0 ltr engine with a cd4e transmission. The car dies when put in drive or reverse, I can push the car and then put it in gear and it will pick up and go, when I have to stop it dies. I replaced the torque converter solenoid with no avail.?????? If the torque converter is bad, do I have to pull the tranny?
