Hi. This spring I am installing a th400 w/ part manual shift kit (will hold whatever gear I select, or put it in "D" and drive like normal auto) I have a speed ring installed on the output shaft w/ a speed sensor so I can have my speedometer working. Does the connector on the th400 speed sensor mate w/ the ...
Have someone tune it.
An M6 trans tune isn't going to look for gear, rpm, stall speed, codes can be deleted.
As far as I remember the speed sensor plugs right in, if not just cut and splice. Quote:

thanks for the info. That is what I thought, but I figured that I better verify it before I go ahead and start the project. Now with the pcm tuning, do you have to program the computer to let it know that you have a 40 tooth wheel? Or is the speedometer completely seperate from pcm inputs?

It is all in the ecm programming. LS1 A4's come with the same reluctor wheel as the th400 should have, 40 tooth.
The M6 cars come with a 17 tooth.
So you should be able to run it for a little while with the A4 tune, most things other than transmission stuff reference the VSS. So basically you're not changing the VSS signal so it all should remain the same.
I am having an issue right now with swapping out my M6 for a TH400. My speedo is over 25mph off. I've got a 40 tooth reluctor now and even though the computer is seeing the true speed. IE 75mph actual is what the computer sees, but the cluster reads 105. I don't know if there is a difference in the tunes between M6 and A4, but I suspect there is. I may just have a custom 17 tooth reluctor ...

I never did the swap into a 4th gen. I just know how it all works.
I've done an A4 to M6 swap, and used HPTuners to get that right. Gear swaps, etc. It's all pretty much the same.
