big day today!!. I got together with my gun Instructor friend and he brought out a lot of different guns today. I started where I left off with the 22 pistol... Then he went to a Luger 9MM. I had a hard time making the adjustment from the 22 to the Luger. I did not like the way it kicked up. I sort of wimped out but made it through a couple of cartridges...I absolutely did not like the 9MM and...
Avalon.....i would subjest you spend more time shooting if noise and recoil is bothering you. its like anything as soon as you get used to it the effect seems to go away mostly. nothing but a 22 is going to recoil like a 22... but you can have very controlable recoils from 38specials....380s...and 9mm my gals prefer the 38specials and 9mm to all my other calibres... the 38s the ...

By the way, after shooting a .22 almost anything will seem to have ...

Hey Avalon, i bought my wife a Bersa .380 for christmas. She was terrified of guns and was very hesitant. After the first trip to the range she was hooked. The Bersa is a very reasonably priced gun and it is very well made. It has a good reputation, and the recoil from the .380 concealed carry model is very moderate . It is the perfect size and very light weight. The gun is a pure ...
Good, Good and, Good If you found one you like then go with it. Of course there are opinions on which is better and Blah Blah Blah, but you know what you like. You can put holes in zombies with lots of different Guns so pick one you like. Way to go. was this the 360?
Frailty, thy name is woman! But seriously, we all need to know our limits. For myself, should I live long enough, a 12 gauge will be too much. At that time I'll switch to a 20 gauge!

Congrats Avalon! I won't give you advise on handguns or calibers, except
try this exercise again (several times if possible) before you draw
conclusions. You will make the correct decision after that.
A 38 Special is the first defense handgun I would recommend for a woman. Don't get an aluminum framed one or one with a barrel shorter than 3" because they will kick more (that's the kind I buy for myself). Smith and Wesson "J" frames are great. They are also about the safest guns around, hard to beat a revolver. Also you can shoot wadcutter ammo and it will have less recoil. Edit: Forget the...

A, If you are going to shoot regularly, get great hearing protection. I use a set of molded IN my ear soft plastic plugs (had it done at a gun show locally) and hearing muffs. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken better care of my hearing. But I lost my hearing at conversational levels before I was twenty. Too much loud rock n roll, too many loud guns, too many loud Harley's... Too much 'unprotected sound waves' in...
