Thread: spark plug platinum or not

I want to replace my spark plugs. Do i really need double platinum plugs or not. I have a 98' 3.2 v6 205hp engine. They don't need to be change but i want to change them.

they do last a little longer but i dont buy them unless im getting a good deal. but its ur choice

Well i will go with the platinum and not the double platinum. At $2.40 a plug that isn't bad for 6 cylinders

How is "double platinum" better than platinum? Sounds like marketing BS, though I am no expert. And if you don't think you need them, I wouldn't bother changing them. If your plugs are okay, you don't have much to gain by swapping in new ones. If your gaps are right and the electrodes are not worn or corroded and covered in carbon, whatever you have should be fine. Platinum doesn't necessarily ...
