i’ve been buildin a motor to put in my first hotrod. it’s a 355 sbc, 2.02 fuelie heads ported, polished, gasket matched, valve bowls bled, 62 cc combustion chambers. The cam specs are .480 lift, and .292 duration. i have a edelbrock streetmaster intake with a one inch spacer, accel distributer, and a 650 holley(all i could afford). and i’m getting a set of full roller 1.6 roller rockers.

you’d better make sure you calculated that properly. and if it does, 97 might not be enough. you might need a bigger cam. and you’ll hurt your engines performance severly if you retard your timing to make it work.
if possible id try to lower it to like 10-10.5:1 ratio. and you’ll probably find that its gonna ...

i got those 2.02 fuelies completely rebuilt brand new all the way thru even new valves for 250 bucks. it was a rly good deal i thought, and everybody i’ve talked to said that those heads flow really well

ok so ur prolly right about the stall converter being too high. but i like 2 spd powerglides, especially with that gear rearend. as far as my truck goes i know a guy who has a 427 and a tremed 5 speed, i would love to put in my truck but thatd be alotta work. i thought about puttin in a 4 spd but i have a feeling i’ll be able to get the automatic to hook better off the line.
a quick-change rear end...................they used to be really popular back in the day..............a freind had one back 25yrs ago...........he had 3 gear sets, 4.11s, 3.73s and 2.73s.........only took 20 min to change..........
