Thread: solid axle hanger help

Started 2 months, 2 weeks ago by little guy
first off ive looked on here and google and have found some info.what i would like to see is some pics of the rear hanger/shackle hanger on a solid front axle swap using 52" springs. it seems that all or most of the KITS out there are for huge lift and stock length front springs. my truck is a 3/4 ton 2wd and i only want about 6" of lift im going to run either 37 or 38" tires.

Im guessing its an 88-98 since he is speaking of an SFA swap. If so then its easy to run longer than stock length springs. All you have to do is box the frame a few inches farther back and then relocate the rear hanger according to what spring you are running. The only place that offers a kit for longer springs is ORU but all it includes is two small filler pieces that you use to box the frame...

THE TRUCK IS AN 89. and i found quite a few kits to do the swap however i havent found any pics of the hangers installed. the frame is already boxed to the back of the cab from the factory and im looking for design ideas for some home brew shackle hangers. im very confident in my skills to make the hangers.

I know my 07 is different, but I am running leafs on the front of mine. I have found a couple of good ideas in the chevy section. Even looked in the Toyota section, for the possibilities of redoing the hangers on my truck. One guy with a CUCV Blazer has adjustable hangers, so he could change the angle of his shackles.

Check out my thread on here...some good ideas on making your own brackets. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=771462 I bought some adjustable rear hangers from DIY4X so I could change the shackle angle a little. No lift, stock rear springs from a 88-98 on my frontend (63" length) but no pics yet, sorry.
