Thread: sky everyday speed problem

hi my speed had been capped at 3 mb just got it changed so now i get download speeds of 360 kb but its no where near the 10mb max. im 1.8 miles from the exchange but should it effect me that much ? is there anything i can do to improve my download rate? really appreciate the help

If that is as the crow flys then the actual distance could be double this, the lines have to follow roads etc, they are never in a straight line from the exchange. am i on adsl or adsl2 or gdmt ? what would be best? or would it not help

my main problem is my ping i think as it says i am getting roughly between 80 and 110 ms ping wherease i use to get roughly 40ms any ideas what to do to lower ping such as ringing up sky or anything else?

Looking good. I see you are on mid which now has a max upload of 600Kbps, yours is still set low you could get that increased and then you have the full set.

You can phone Sky and tell them you are a gamer and would like your Delay reduced, you should be passed to CST who will change the necessary setting. You can try changing the channel in the router to improve your wireless speed, but wireless is very seldom as fast as wired. Connecting by wire will give you the best possible speed.

Ring Sky and ask foy your max delays to be set to 8, this can be done via CST whislt you are on the phone and you should see an immediate improvement. Also, if you are wireless, try a wire!!!
