Started 1 month, 2 weeks ago by stevenlee
I heard that the EGR system should be deactivated for better performance with a turbo application I am considering the following possible mods and would like comments. 1- Should I remove the EGR stainless steel tube and cap off the engine and throttle body ports that connect to the tube. 2- Should the EGR valve be altered or removed? Are you running an Aftermarket ECU? yes you can remove it if so. It will throw a CEL if you remove it with an OEM ECU. You can make some blanking plates or buy them from SOS. No need to weld anything

I am running an AEM ECU. What components can be removed?

you can remove the whole thing. I just made a alloy blanking plate for the Cyl Head. & a smaller blanking plate for the metal tube that goes to the Inlet. I'm sure SOS sell these but they are easy to make.

IMO you need to relieve crankcase pressure not cap it off. It will just blow out somewhere else. Someplace expensive.

Wouldn't the crankcace still be able to vent through the PCV valve vent?

EGR does not vent crankcase pressure. Here is a delete kit we sell: http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...ed/EGR_dele te/ regards, -- Chris
