You could have the gas ports on your barrel opened up by a gunsmith. but you should not use 3" loads after you do that because it will cycle too hard and hurt the receiver. cheap fix but a one way street.
Well folks, I talked to a tech at Remington yesterday. He told me a different story than what they had originally said about it supposedly being able to shoot all length`s of shells. Well, let me start off by saying what the gun was doing. Oh, and I did send them the whole gun. It would not even open the port upon firing a lowbrass shell. If I fired a high brass 3" it would "stove pipe",almost ...
I was looking at a nice 1100 LT20 just the other day but saw that it said "Magnum" on it so I decided I would check it out before I purchased. And after reading this I am glad I did! I really just want to shoot 2 3/4 shells, not 3". But am I correct in saying there is no difference in the frame size but only barrel sizes for post '77 1100s? It is merely the barrel and piston sleeve/rings that...
I wouldn`t be scared of the Lt20. I would actually buy one if I didn`t already have so much invested in this one, I actually would prefer the 20 for my uses. I shipped it directly to remington in Ilion ,NY. 6 days later, a tech called me, he was very knowledgeable, said he had been working on rems for 39 yrs. wow! He was talking about retirement with excitement. Thats great.
I need a barrel for a 1100 magnum reciever, does anyone have or know where i can get a good used one for my son in laws gun? I dont want to buy a new one for him to just get rid of it later if he doesnt like the gun. He bought it from one of my customers one day while I was gone to town and showed it to me when I got back. Well it has a magnum reciever and a 2 3/4 barrel. He thought it was broke ...

jimsunder90, Do you have any idea what that little barrel shortening episode cost you? The fact that you had a factory 32" Remington magnum barrel is rare enough in itself. That barrel was easily worth $350 prior to it being shortened. Now it isn't worth worth spit. bpshooter
