And imagine getting a flat in this rain!! Happened to me just yesterday. Takes double the time when you're working with numb wet slippery muddy hands and fingers... On the good side, Vancouver rain at this time of year is actually refreshing on a ride, as long as your feet and hands remain warm, that is.
Cold, windy, raining...a perfect day for a bike ride. (Slogan borrowed from Portland's "Worst Day of the Year Ride").
I rode in the OBRA CX race at Salem today. I think this is the filthiest I've gotten at a race -- great fun.

Yeah, it's not the usual PNW drizzle this November, which can actually be kinda pleasant to ride in. A lot of this rain is cold, hard, windy, spirit-sapping... and it NEVER STOPS. My solution yesterday was to go up to the 4000' level above Vancouver (bc) and do some cross-training on snowshoes - that was nice. Looks like some decent snow in the Washington passes too...
Yeah I had some good snowshoeing up at Snoqualmie Pass, going to Snow Lake. Won't be back this year though, it was about as late as one can safely hike that route. Too much avalanche danger.

There is 10" of new heavy, wet snow in my drive, waiting to be shoveled.
So don't have much sympathy.

The last few years have been dry and sunny mostly. Cyclocross...

Put my wet gear in the furnace/water-heater space last night, shoes and gloves dried, coat didn't. The gloves are usually the last to dry, but the coat fell into a heap on the floor so wasn't maximally spread out to the warm air.
