Do you take them? What do you take? For ALL of my pregnancies, I've been super bad about taking them. They gag me and taste soo horrid, they make me vomit--so I just gave up trying. But I'm curious what you ladies take and if they make you sick!
-- Me (27), DH (23), Regan (7), Alec (4), Natalie (3), Erin (1), and new baby due June 11, 2010! My miracle baby :)

I take Prenate DHA, and haven't had any problems with them. With DS, I took PrimaCare, and no problems with those, either. But, I have an iron stomach.... The only thing that has ever made me sick is zinc, that gets me every time! Before I was PG, my daily vitamin made me sick, and it had like 100% of the zinc needed, had to make sure I took that one on ...

Lurking from 2nd tri... I started taking an OTC prenatal from Wal-Mart before we started TTC and then I was able to take them until I was about 6 wks pg before I got horribly sick from them. I even tried the children's chewables with the same results. So, it was either forego the vitamins or take them and be so sick I couldn't eat or drink anything! My ...

I just take my prenatals at the same time I take my arthritis meds. In the morning when I wake up. I used to take them at night, but I am terrible at remembering unless it is first thing in the morning. The kind I take are from Trader Joes, but I had to "modify" the pills to be able to get them down. First, I cut them in half so they don't look like ...

Just lurking (not pregnant YET! lol) but when I was pregnant with DD1 I was so sick the docs told me to NOT take any prenatals because I wouldn't be able to hold them down anyway, plus they would only add to the already-nausea I had. Once I got better I started taking them but this was already in my 2nd trimester so for the 1st trimester I didn't take ...

Hi, with my first DS, prenatals in the AM made me nauseous, so I started taking them at lunch time and that made a BIG difference. My doctor at the time also said I could take 2 Flintstone vitamins instead if I needed to. My SIL didn't take prenatals, but she took 1 folic acid pill each day, since that is the most important thing anyway. With this ...

I do take folic acid when I remember to! LOL I have a folic acid supplement b/c the topamax I was taking for my migraines somehow depleted my folic acid supply. (not sure how that works! LOL)

My doctor prescribed Concept DHA this time. I really like them. They are a small capsule. They don't make me sick at all. I took Primacare (am and pm) last time, and they were pretty good, too. The only ones that ever made me sick were the OTC One-A-Day prenatals.

I've been taking the OTC Nature Made from Target. I take them at night with CapriSun (I've been craving for a while now) and I don't think they are bothering me much. Although I am having some nausea issues all the time. That started before I even knew I was preggo, and before I was taking my prenatal, so I doubt the PNV I'm taking is causing any of my ...

I haven't even tried swallowing the DHA pills. I can't swallow pills to save my life. So what I'm doing is drinking Horizon's Organic 2% Milk that has DHA and Omega 3 (it's ultrapasturized). Hopefully you're able to stomach milk. My OBGYN also recommend taking 2 Flinstones Complete vitamins in place of regular prenatal pills.
Replying to: prenatal vitamins I'm usually severely anemic also. I spent a week in the hospital during my last pregnancy b/c of my anemia. Had some sort of IV transfusion. Sadly, my body just does not absorb iron. I have tried pills, shots, ivs, nothing's worked. I went and had my iron tested a few weeks ago--and it was at a 13! That's the HIGHEST it's been in YEARS. Usually, I'm lucky to have to be at 10!! So I...

Replying to: prenatal vitamins I just went to the dr yesterday and they told me not to take them just to take folic acid 800mcg. I was having a really hard time keeping my vitamins down. They also told me that I can take B6 with the folic acid and it would help with MS

Can anyone recommend a really good over the counter... Can anyone recommend a really good over the counter multivitamin. I felt so
healthy taking prescription prenatal vitamins while I was pregnant and
breastfeeding but I am done with that now and the prenatal vitamins cost a
fortune.
