do you by chance know a guy named VAGEEN?

Walter_Middie replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
I'd remove the air filter, turn the ignition on, and lift the air flow plate to let some fresh gas flow in. Don't allow the fuel to run more than a couple of seconds or you'll flood it - or worse, hydro-lock. Once you have bled the air out of the fuel lines, it may start.

usaporche replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
What is hidro lock?

porsche930dude replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
when the cylenders fill with fuel and wont compress. locking the engine up. Id suggest not doing what he said because cranking the engine for a few seconds will accomplish the same thing. Did you check for spark?

kidrock replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
so, usaporche... did you follow the best advice, and lift the air flow plate? Despite the snuggly welcome, we all have an interest in helping you get your car running!!

Usually a no start is a simple problem. Read this thread: Help!!!911 2.4 not starting...

Oh Haha replied 1 month, 4 weeks ago
It's probably mad at you because you are spelling the name of it PORCHE. j/k Check the obvious things first and read the threads. You should post pics of it when you get a chance, seeing as how you are new to Pelican.

Unless the air flow sensor on CIS is moved, there is no reason for it to prime itself. The air flow sensor needs to be moved to charge the system, thats what the red relay is for to keep the pump from running. Bruce

He should change his avatar/signature to Porsh. Who are these people?

While the advice offered on here is generally excellent, I've found that personal comments are made in a light hearted atmosphere. Most offer serious advice, but not serious criticism - maybe good natured ribbing. If you want an example of serious, try off topic political or religious. My apologies, as I was not trying to offend you and I do hope you get your car running.

As I said, we have tons of spammers posting what seem like legitimate questions as of late. I didn't say you were an idiot because you spelled Porsche wrong. IT WAS A JOKE!!! You know, trying to break the ice with the new guy and all. I honestly don't give flying **** how you spell the name. I can't add any more advice than what others have posted so I will wish you the best of luck in getting it running so you enjoy it.

I hope you get your car running as well. My post was just further insight to the more savvy mechanics that may have missed the DME error. Walters advice is the first thing I would do and Wayne restated it as the proper thing to do. There is a check valve in the pump that will only allow fuel to flow one way, is the pump installed in the correct orientation? Is the pump a Porsche pump? Walter is correct as to the comments made on the board,...

I asked four specific and relevant troubleshooting questions of the guy as to exactly what the conditions were under which the noise occurred--engine running or not, car moving or not, etc.--and got no answer. But he sure knows I think he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer because he can't spell the make of his car, and now he tells me I gotta go get laid. Okay, I'll do that.

This guy makes multiple posts over time - on the same topic - while never answering questions to help us help him diagnose the problem. You never get the whole story. Car was apparently running from previous posts until he changed the fuel pump for some reason, and then we jump to a bad coil (another thread)? He's funny.
