I tooled around on the internet, and eventually found out how to do a "hard reset" on my treo.  search for it on this website.  it's basically like re-installing your operating system on yoru pc.  it erases all your data, but you don't have to replace the phone.

I have the exact same issue.  After adding the new version of Pocket Express to my today screen, my phone locked up, and now locks up on startup.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

I have had that problem too, and have had 2 phones replaced in the process, what the issue is that upgrade for pocket express is actually for the iphone interface and it is not compatible with your phone, so when it ask you to upgrade decline it and use the current default pocket express software, that is the reason it freezes up. I figured it out by looking at the pocket express website and comparing. But for sure that is what the problem...

I had the exact same problem. I updated Pocket Express and noticed it wasn't on my Today screen. As soon as I checked the box in settings to add it to the today screen, it froze. The only things on the screen were the time, battery icon, signal icon with an exclamation point after it, and the start icon. None of the keys would work at all. I tried soft reset, removed the battery several times. Then I tried holding down the start key...
