Thread: new engines

i was looking into doin a 302 to 351 w swap. i realized how much stuff i would have to change. i would need a different oil pan, the right pump, balancer, flywheel, headers intake, distributor, possibly carb, motor mounts, possibility of hood clearance issues, steering column/header issues.

Haha i was just clearing some things up. Best way to go is a 331 or 347 stroker.

what would be the average h.p on a 331 or 347? or does it depend on the comb?

You should also factor in the T5, a well build 351 will kill a T5 quickly. A smaller cubic in. engine should not make as much torque and not be as hard on a T5. If you want to make some decent power you should look at stepping up to a stronger transmission. If I were to recomend an engine, I would say go with a 331 or 347, you can make plenty of power with either, more intake choices, easier to ...
