Hi, I know this is much to ask, but I would like to have your comments. I have made graphs of year 2008 and 2009 focal lenghts and 2009 apertures and shutter speeds: http://srinne.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Graphs+2009/ My current gear is: Nikon D90, SB-400, SB-600 Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 -> mainly for landscapes (had earlier sigma 10-20) Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 -> dog portraits and all purpose fast (had earlier ...

Here is the unprocessed image. As you can see my processing on the original was some color correction to deal with the fact that the red wavelengths are filtered out by the water and some sharpening. http://www.fotothing.com/photos/910/910905f77107a9 bc07aadb09e82b6831_563.jpg

Hi, I thought I would throw in my 2cents worth on this. I extensively tested my nikon 24-70 and my tamron 28-75. I tried the new tamron with the built in motor and it was very slow to focus and the image quality was ok.. I called and talked with a tech from Tamron and he said they know this lens has issues with the D700. So I sent back the lens to b and h and bought a used screw drive 28-75....

Depends on what you plan on shooting. I used my WA glass quite a bit for over all shots and my 70-300 foor close ups. Did not do any macro. If you can take all and never use them it is better than leaving one home and wishing you had it with you. www.alldigital.fotopic.net

If memory serves, I brought my 35mm F2,18-135mm, and70-300g Nikkor(whichI only put onto my D200 once on the trip). Most often I used the 18-135mm(your 18-200 should serve you well). I did use the 35mm a time or two. It would help to know what you're planning on shooting. Here's a link to what I shot on my trip to Egypt(including a few from Luxor): http://www.flickr.com/photos/8396406@N03/sets/...

Would think wide angle and tele should do. So, the 18-200 should be doing just fine. Would also bring either the 50 mm 1.8 or the 28 mm 1.8 for low light situations. That's it.

I haven't been there myself but have noticed that all those pictures of pyramids have pretty terrible perspective. I guess you can't get very far back and it makes the tops slope inward terribly.

Going to Egypt myself end of next month. Just got D5000 and F1.8 35mm coming in mail; will be buying 16-85mm next couple of days. Did not want to take 70-300mm - too heavy and will unlikely to see much use. note that you are not allowed to take pictures inside pyramids, tombs, and museums, so now I am wondering how much sue the F1.8 would get. Should I get a UV or clear filter for F1.8 - will ...

New Nikon Lenses - Why no wide...

Maybe it's coming, you never know. Nikon didn't specifically mention that they're not gonna release wide prime any time soon, so they might be in the process of developing it for all we know. Maybe they are trying breakthrough design that's why it takes longer. I have a feeling they will hit us with really really good FX prime when it's released. (just like how they released the awesome 14-24mm)

Well...it looks like the TC will round out the package. I'm SERIOUSLY writing to Nikon that they should offer a discount on TC's to buyers of the new 70-200! Anyone want to start a petition? Max Green

Nano feature in Nikon lens
Published (2009-12-11 02:57:00)
I have 3 nano lenses now (105vr, 14-24 and 24-70). While I don't have directly comparable non-nano lenses, my gut feel from using these lenses for a while is that it increases contrast and reduces flare to a noticeable degree. Sometimes you put on a filter, or try out a certain lens and notice a lack of contrast compared to other lenses. Almost like there is a bit of haze over the subject. Almost like looking through your glasses at the...

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Market adjustments between different nations, trading blocks (ie: EU and NAFTA, etc) can vary quite a lot - all depending upon the actual item being sold. Even within NAFTA here in Canada/USA the consumer price can vary a lot, and it's often very confusing to the average consumer coz they don't understand the underlying elements, etc. Here's one small example. The D3x body sells for...

Move in 1.5 feet, or......get the d3s and use the 1.2 crop mode, or.....get some therapy and ask the Doc why it is that you should have flawless equipment and not be willing to compromise one factor when 4 out of 5 areas are improved. God, if your photography demands the best, gett he 200 2.0 and be done with it.....But you my friend will then whine about the weight, price and maybe even the paint color.
