Thread: need help - what was best gift you received?

Started 4 months ago by mavin2005
Hi - my best friend is newly pregnant with her 2nd and I want to get her a gift.  My 2nd is a March baby but I have forgotten everything.  What was the best gift that you received?  Or the thing that you use most.  She has all the major baby things from her 1st child so something different or often forgotten. Thanks - Kim

honestly the best gift I got(not the most expensive) but by far the best was my friend who got me my mylicon, baby tylenol, baby saline, etc... I never realized how valuable these things would be and didn't buy them myself before LO was born.  ALthough if its her second, she probably already knows to stock those things.

The best gift I recieved was the Boppy.  I still use it everyday. Mason knows that when I get the Boppy a bottle is not far behind.

A Kiddapotomous Swaddler, the heartbeat bear (my daughter would turn her head toward it at only a week), and a Baby Bijorn.

This is for when they start eating solids (but you usually get so many things for infants anyway) but those Bumkins bibs are the best!  They contain liquid spills and you can wash them in the clothes washer or even the dish washer in a pinch!  Those are probably my all time fave baby/toddler item. Swaddles, Bobby and the "needy items" as I call them. Diapers, wipes, tylenol, gas drops, saline spay, bogger sucker, etc.

You could purchase some fabric & create a wrap similar to a moby.  I really wish I'd have had a wrap earlier, I recently bought fabric for $7.50 from walmart, and I think it'll make 2 or 3.  You can do it "no sew." I also liked that a friend of mine got me bowls and spoons and some things like that. I didn't realize how quickly I'd need them.  I also liked those lovey blankets (super soft) w/...

Yes - the boppy pillow is great.  Get one with those thicker, soft, fuzzy covers.  I think those more expensive covers are SO much nicer than the thin ones.  Plus, with the free subscription to Parents magazine that comes with a boppy pillow purchase, this ends up being a very nice gift that she will use for a long time.

Boppy, cloth diaper birthing cloths and just a box full of diapers...you can never have enough of them. Some friends came over after my LO was born and brought diapers and I couldn't have been more thankful...some were even in the next size up which was nice to have them when I would eventually need them. Also, you could offer to cook some meals when the baby arrives since I found this was ...

I'm torn between the Boppy and cloth diapers for burp cloths.  I use both all the time.  Burp clothes aren't a very glamorous gift, but everything in my house including myself and my baby would be covered in spit up and drool if we didn't have them. What about something she doesn't NEED but is just nice to have like a wipes warmer? Or how about something just for her like a massage or mani/...
