is that a fact or a cheeky side comment? Because I did notice quite explicit similarities when I was watching it today and I think Hans Zimmer wasn't attached to Pirates of the Caribbean until 2 and 3?

I was wondering the same thing... On an on-line radio station that plays orchestral movie scores, the theme song for Gladiator came on. When i checked, the song was listed as "Anvil of Crom" by Basil Poledouris from Schwarzenegger's 1982 movie 'Conan the Barbarian'. The cord progressions are unmistakable. Is the radio listing wrong? Or was Gladiator's theme music adapted from Basil's work?
