hey everybody
well today i went to grease the bearings in my front 44. left side went fine with no problems at all.
moved over to the right side, and it was a problem.
over the summer i had an inner bearing seize to the spindle preventing me from being able to pull the hub. the only option was to cut off the outer hub assembly and cut the bearing off the spindle. i was fortunate ...
thanks..ill see what i can do with that
i had pretty much the same thread in the non-hardcore 3-4 weeks ago (this is my 2nd attempt at getting it off) and i didn't have any responces, other then asking for pictures of what i was talking about
figured id try a group of people a little more intune with the subject
make sure the shaft isn't stuck to the hub, that could be the issue, if it is free, then i dont know what could be holding it in there. i use the same method as in the link to pull my hubs, and i have never had any trouble
My 44 has done the same thing a few times, but nothing that I couldnt handle with the right amount of wiggling, massaging, and tapping. if you can get a slide hammer onto one of those lockout bolts maybe...I don't know. Once you have it off inspect the splines for burrs, might need to file or dremel them a little if they have anything.
cool
i know it isn't stuck to the shaft, because i can take the shaft and tap it into the centersection about half an inch, so thats got play.
but i had 3 bolts in the lockout holes, and i held them with vice grips and gave them hell and they werent budging.
think i should try some heat to the outer hub if its siezed in that?
if your sure both the inner and outer snap rings are removed, then put the hub back on with all bolts and use a big pair of channel locks and wiggle the whole thing out.
thats a really good idea.
i didn't like prying on the bolts by themselves because theyre pretty small, but with all 6 back in and pulling as a unit it should be strong enough.
ive even got a busted warn dial that i can use
