Thread: light platforms

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by hitechredneck
Im looking for a set of light platform pedals, I really like the specialized mag pedals, but dont want gold or white. I'm looking for something around the same weight and skinniness (not even a word but you get the picture)

yup, and they are dirt cheap. The mg-1 titanium spindle version is even lighter and so far has done a pretty decent job on my judge. There are grippier pedals out there for sure, but teamed up with 5.10s they do the job quite nicely. I'm gonna put some on my trail bike for sure - the shimano dx pedals i have on now are neither light nor especially grippy.

kona wah wah is gonna be your best choice. light platform 480g/pair - not the lightest but they give the best grip and are large. super grippy pedal - probably best grip out of all the pedals. thin profile concave design $80 some on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Kona-Wah-Wah-Pla...item4837dca ed2

Tioga Spyder D's are pretty light. In the 200-300 gram range with pins if a remember correctly. Theyre not as big of a platform as a lot of others though.

Strailines are sick, but expensive. Not that light either.. Um but they are sick?

Anyone use the DMR V12 Mag? I believe these are the pedals that "inspired" the Wellgo MG-1's. I was considering this pedal as I've read many good reviews (seem to popular in Europe). Weighs in at 434g or 354g with titanium spindles.

Check out the v sixty B64 pedals.. sealed bearing, fairly light, and narrow. I tried my buddies bike that has them on it today, they felt like clipless pedals the grip is soo good on them. I don't know what they cost in the states, but they are $80 here in Canada.
